Youth Outreach Programs sankofaPR realizes the potential that the Generation X possesses. That is why sankofaPR dedicated 12 weeks to train and mentor a select group of Ghanian youths in Brooklyn, New York. Basic and intermediate computer literacy was taught. In addition, personal finances and an introduction to the Stock Market was also introduced to these youngsters who were excited to learn how to make sound investment decisions. At the conclusion of the twelve week course the class of 11 students were able to effectively use their new computer skills to "play" the stock market. However, the birth of the MAHNBERG Investment Club was the "icing on the cake" which made the time and resources sankofaPR spent worthwhile.
AIDS WALK 2001 On August 4, 2001 we did not just talk about it we walked for it. That was our theme for the first annual "Ghana, West Africa AIDS WALK" Sponsors, volunteers, and walkers all pitched in for the very REAL problem that Ghanaians are facing today. "For some girls, prostitution is the only way to make a living, so the cycle of [HIV/AIDS] infection continues." The AIDS walk-a-thon was a hug success. sankofaPR donated 100% of all the proceeds to the National AIDS Control program at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana.
